DLA Troop Support is looking for 480 multi-point gunner harnesses.  These are described by DOD as:

“A device consisting of cables, lanyards, mounting hardware, mounting support, and the like designed to anchor personnel to a vertical structure such as a ladder, building, missile launch tube, or the like. It provides stability and security. “

These were last supplied to the defense department by Schroth Safety equipment for $484.50 each in quantity of 446.  DLA predicts an annual demand of 1,546 units and is currently back-ordered by 179 units.  Forecast demand for this item has been rising over time.  The harness has also been purchased through GSA in small quantities for $2,198 each.

The Schroth Safety part number for this item is 900-US-07301.  It is used on the MRAP, CAT II ambulance, and the Joint EOC Rapid Response vehicle.
