DLA Aviation is going to issue an Indefinite Delivery Contract (IDC) for cable assemblies used in the Force XXI Battle Command Brigade and Below (FBCB2) system. The contract will have two base years and three option years for a total of up to five years.
The cable, NSN 5995-01-593-9710 has been supplied by Falmat, Inc since 2017. The most recent order was for 150 units at $142 each. Other suppliers include Maryland Integrated Systems, J&K Electronics (M3 Technology), and Northrop Grumman.
The contract has been set-aside for small business, although the most recent supplier, Falmat is a large corporation with over 1,500 employees. This might present an opportunity for small businesses looking to compete.
The Defense Department has requested two quantity breakdowns, 300-600 and 500-700. No annual estimated demand has been published. At 600 units each year, the five year contract could be worth $255,600.
