The Defense Logistics Agency has issued a Request For Quotation (RFQ) for  12V, 8a, 35w batteries.  The Enersys OEM part number NPX-35TFR.  The contract will have one base year and two option years.  DOD has requested quantity breakdowns from 11-40 to 101-300, with an estimated annual demand at 1,536 units.  The National Stock Number is 6140-01-616-1853.

The last company to supply this battery was Wholesale Battery for $32.99 each in quantity of 6.  A quick online search yields single unit pricing of $20-$25.  If all three years of the contract are executed, it could be worth $152,017.

DLA Aviation, ASC Commodities Division is soliciting wiring harnesses used on the F-16.  A technical documentation package is available for download which provides detail on how to make the harness.   DOD describes this copper core wiring harness as having 27 branches.  The National Stock number is 6150-01-461-5813.

The order will be for 47 units plus one first article test item.  There is no procurement history on this Lockheed Martin part (H16DW2609-322), but DOD estimates the unit cost at $8,214 each.  DLA estimates annual demand at 20 units each year.

The Defense Logistics Agency has issued a solicitation for 47 Abrasi-Blast Air Respirators, NSN 4240-01-396-1703. These commercial off-the-shelf respirators include an Ultravue face-piece, Hypalon Hood with Collar, Shoulder-Length supporting 35-40 psi.  The OEM part number is 468722.

The last company to supply these to the military was Western Safety Products for $957.32 in quantity of 16.  Other suppliers include Advance Safety, Arbill Industries, and ANA sourcing. Based on past procurement history we estimate this contract to be worth $44,321.

The Defense Logistics Agency is issuing an Indefinite Delivery Contract (IDC) for aircraft maintenance ladders. This 8-rung aluminum ladder NSN 1730-01-424-2857 was originally manufactured by Wing Enterprises, although any ladder with the same specifications is acceptable. The Wing Enterprises part number is M126.

The contract does not designate a specific quantity, but cites annual demand at 50 units.  The quantity could be more or less, with a maximum contract value of $250,000.  These ladders will be periodically ordered against the contract, so they don’t have to be delivered all at once.

It was last sold to DOD by LSE Associates for $510 each in quantity of 24. Other suppliers include JGILS, An-mac Intercorp and Genesis J.I.T.  DLA estimates the unit price of a single unit at $940.

DLA Clothing and Textiles division is planning to issue a long-term contract for women’s and men’s double breasted wool dress coats.  Based on the government’s annual demand estimate, the contract will cover approximately 28,116 coats over three years. The military will submit delivery orders against this contract that has one base year and two option years.

The coats were last supplied by Bremen Bowden with pricing ranging from $106.41 to 128.48 in small quantities (60ea).   The solicitation covers the following National Stock Numbers:

A note about the first line item above; even though NSN 8405-01-600-1738 appears on a current solicitation, the stock number is officially designated as cancelled without replacement as of May 2012 according to DOD. However, the solicitation and attachments do provide enough information to produce the item.  It might be worth mentioning to the buyer they they’re soliciting a cancelled NSN.

The coats are to comply with MIL-C-29107C. All offers are due at DLA by March 30, 2021.

It was last supplied to the military by Aardvark corporation for $78.51 in quantity of 500.  Other suppliers include Darbonnier Tactical, Tact360 and Paulson.  Although Paulson is the only OEM listed in DOD databases, any supplier who can provide a shield fitting the salient characteristics described in the solicitation can bid.  The Paulson part number is DK6-X.250AF.

Based on passed procurement history, we estimate this solicitation to be valued at $769,398.  It has been set-aside for small businesses.
