The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) has issued a solicitation for the tail assembly shell used on the F-16 aircraft.  The assembly shell, NSN 1560-01-072-1242 has a functional description, “Used as 300 gallon tank pts assembly”.  It includes the upper and lower skin, bulkhead closure, joint ring, doubler, frame, stops and angles.  Technical data is available on this item so new companies can compete.  The contract will span five years with an estimated annual demand of 28 units.

The assembly was last sold to the military by GSE Dynamics for $19,285 each in quantity of 25. $100M five year military contract for uniforms

DLA Troop Support will be issuing a contract for the supply of unisex two-piece flame resistant uniforms. The contract will last for five years and is broken into two lots.  Lot #1 is for designated companies located in a HUBZONE, while lot #2 is set-aside for small businesses.  The contract will last for five years against which DLA will issue periodic delivery orders.

The fabric is 55% flame-resistant rayon, 30% meta-aramid, 10% nylon, and 5% para-aramid ripstop.  They were last sold to the military by Silver Oak Leaf, Inc.   The coats sold for $96.07 ea in quantity of 1,140; the trousers sold for $113.91 in quantity of 220.

Estimated quantities for each are as follows:

Year 1: 81,000

Years 2 + 3: 114,000 annually

Years 4+5: 192,000 annually

The total estimated demand over five years is 693,000 uniforms.  DLA has set a maximum quantity of 885,000 over the contract term. Monthly delivery orders will have a maximum quantity of 10,000 in the first year, and up to 20,000 per month in later years.

Based on past procurement history and adjusting for quantity discount, this contract is worth more than $100 Million over the contract term.
