DLA Aviation has issued a solicitation for long-term supply of Humidity-Temperature probes. The contract will have three base years and two option years for a maximum duration of five. The design of the probe complies with military specification MS27188-2. It is used on the F/A-18 aircraft.
This probe, NSN 6685-00-803-7705 is made of corrosion resistant steel with a temperature range of -70 to 350 degrees Celsius and a humidity range of 0 to 100.
The last company to supply these to the military was Phaostron Instrument and Electronic, which sold them for $3,786 in quantity of 66. The solicitation calls for annual demand of 59 for a total of 295 over five years. We estimate the value of the contract at around $1.1 Million.
