We originally published an article in April this year relating to Solicitation SPRDL1-21-R-0113, the latest amendment posted on July 11, 2022 changed the solicitation to “Total Small Business Set-Aside”.

We conducted some further research in the contracts section of BidLink and found a more recent award to Alliant Techsystems for $8,346,345 for a quantity of 203 units, and DoD only received two bids.

Since Alliant Techsystems, a division of Northrop Grumman is a large company with over 1500 employees, Alliant Techsystems is excluded from submitting a bid.  This opens the solicitation it to any company according to FAR 52.219-6, “Notice of Small Business Set-Aside”.

This solicitation lists a Maximum 5 Year contract quantity of 646 25MM M242 feeder assemblies which could potentially be worth over 26.5 million dollars if all quantities are purchased.

By reviewing some past sales by Government agencies we have seen Pallet Jacks or Lift Trucks purchased under GSA Categories such as Hardware and tools, Categories 332510C and 332510S. A few of the brands we found that government purchased were Vestil, Big Joe, and Uline.

The solicitation calls for filters by Air-Rite, Inc (CAGE 7H603), although this company’s website claims that they are a distributor not a manufacturer. The associated part number 81316252 was found in a catalog from Aerostar Nexfil.  This catalog listed it as the MERV13 filter manufactured by Filtration Group-IAQ.

They were last sold to the defense department for $91.47 in quantity of 87.  The current solicitation calls for 208 units.  Based on past procurement history pricing, we estimate the value of this contract at $19,025.
