The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) has issued a solicitation which will result in a three year contract for the supply of women’s and men’s running shoes. The government estimates that they will purchase approximately 639,955 pairs of shoes over the contract term.
Because the quantity is so large, DOD wants to ensure supply so the solicitation is broken into two lots. Each lot will be awarded with separate contracts. Lot 0001 will include 60% of the total quantity, while lot 0002 includes the remaining 40%.
These shoes were recently sold to the military by San Antonio Shoe, Inc., and Propper international, Inc. A breakdown of the total estimated quantity over three years is below:

The recent prices above were for smaller quantities so I am sure quantity discounts will apply. Our rough estimate for this contract is $50 Million total for both lots.
