DLA Aviation has issued a solicitation which will result in a five year contract for the supply of bumper assemblies used on the F-16 aircraft. This assembly, NSN 1560-01-045-0371 includes a bumper p/n 16L027-7 and a bracket p/n 16L026-9.
The assembly was last sold to the military by GSE Dynamics in Hauppauge, NY for $638 each in quantity of 123. Aero Components has also supplied this item. DLA estimates that they will purchase 340 bumper kits each year for a total quantity of 1,700 over five years.
We estimate the value of this contract at $1.08 million. Technical data is available on this item so new companies can compete.
