DLA Land and Maritime has issued a pre-solicitation so the military can determine if there are additional suppliers that can produce these anti-pilferage seals NSN 5340-01-260-9935.  The only current approved source is EJ Brooks Company.

If other companies can compete, DLA will be issuing a competitive solicitation on or about January 27, 2023. The resulting Indefinite Quantity Contract (IQC) will have three base years and two option years for a maximum of five.

There is no set quantity on this contract but DLA has set a maximum contract value of $2.1 Million over five years. Usually long-term contract maximums are also the anticipated amount that they will spend based on annual demand.

$12 Million DLA solicitation for protective gloves

They are specifically designed to be worn by personnel to ensure protection from nuclear, biological and chemical contaminants.  They are non-flame resistant. They have an Airboss Defense part number of 0M990520.

The last company to supply these to the military was Canadian Commercial Corporation which sold them for $23.65 each in quantity of 100,000.  DLA estimates that they will purchase approximately 540,000 gloves over the three year period with a maximum quantity of 810,000.

Extra time was provided by the contracting officer with this solicitation closing on 3/14/2023. Technical data is available by way of a military specification.

Based on past procurement history we estimate the value of this contract at $12.7 Million over the contract term.

DLA wants more competition on this F-16 gear; $1.5 million annually
