
DLA Land and Maritime will be issuing a long-term contract for supply of 28V Lithium-ion rechargeable batteries, NSN 6140-01-633-9444. This contract will have three base years and two option years for a total duration of five.
The last company to supply these to the military was Bren-Tronics, which sold 18,131 batteries for $173.42 each. The total contract value was $3.1 Million.
There is no set quantity on this contract but DLA estimates that they will purchase 25,227 batteries each year with an initial order of 6,000 units. Based on past procurement history pricing we estimate the value of this contract at $21 Million. In the case of increased demand DLA has set the maximum contract value to $45 Million. The contract may be awarded to three companies if a single company cannot handle the quantity.
All offers are due by April 13, 2023.
