The Defense Logistics Agency is soliciting 8 A/C motors which were previously purchased at $4,995 each.  The motor, NSN 6105-01-108-5663 was previously sold to DOD by Avinex, Inc and CU Enterprises.  The last time the defense department purchased this motor was in 2009, although there have been recent unanswered solicitations for it.

A complete technical data package is available for this 23.5 watt, 115 volt motor.  It was originally produced by Honeywell under part number 18059-0001.

Price for this item has increased from $2,716 in 2001 to $4995 in 2009.  DOD estimates the unit price of this item to be $6,535.

DLA Aviation is looking for a long-term supplier of braided conduit.  This contract, with one base year and five option years is valued at $223,295 if all five years are executed at DLA’s estimated quantity of 2,627 feet per year.  Demand for this item has increased by 30% this year with prices rising from $10 / foot to $17 / foot over 10 years.

The item has been supplied to DLA by DCX-CHOL Enterprises, PRN Associates, Pioneer Industries, and Super-Tek.

DLA Troop Support is looking for support frames used to hoist the F-15 aircraft.  DLA describes the item as follows:

“An item consisting of a supporting frame, designed to mount on an aircraft for lifting, installing and/or removing engines, gunsights, propellers and the like.”

DLA Troop Support Hardware division is soliciting 250 nickel alloy hex nuts. The 80.0 Rockwell B hardened nut has a width of 1.687″ and a height of 0.939″.

This item has been previously sold to DLA by Statz Corp, Apex Defense, Tri-state tech, and JIT industries.  The most recent sale price was $267.68 each in quantity of 600.  DLA anticipates annual demand of around 242 units.  It has also been ordered through GSA in small quantities at $842.68 each.

Although source approval is required, engineering drawings are publicly available through military specification MIL-DTL-1222.

DLA Troop Support is looking for 480 multi-point gunner harnesses.  These are described by DOD as:

These were last supplied to the defense department by Schroth Safety equipment for $484.50 each in quantity of 446.  DLA predicts an annual demand of 1,546 units and is currently back-ordered by 179 units.  Forecast demand for this item has been rising over time.  The harness has also been purchased through GSA in small quantities for $2,198 each.

The Schroth Safety part number for this item is 900-US-07301.  It is used on the MRAP, CAT II ambulance, and the Joint EOC Rapid Response vehicle.

DLA Land and Maritime is soliciting rechargeable battery packs for use in the HH-60 Helicopter.  The Lithium Manganese Dioxide battery, part number GS-46 was last supplied to the military by Roanwell Corp at $160 each in quantities over 1,000.
