DLA Clothing and Textile has issued a solicitation for green polyester / woool garbardine cloth.  This green fabric NSN 8305-01-247-6550 will be used for the U.S. Marine Corps. This material is 10.6 ounces per linear yard delivered in 60″ wide rolls. It is to comply with military specification MIL-DTL-10176L.

The only company to supply this material over the last 10 years is Burlington Industries, a large corporation.  They sold 138,000 yards for $20.35 / yd.  There is no set quantity on this solicitation, but DLA estimates they will purchase 276,00 yards over the year.  The solicitation has a minimum of 132,500 and a maximum of 414,000 yards.  The first delivery is expected within 360 days of the initial delivery order.

DLA Troop Support will be issuing a five-year contract for the supply of Marine Corps sweatpants and sweatshirts.  The total estimated quantity over the term of the contract is 780,000 each / pair in any combination of shirts and pants.
