DLA Aviation is planning to issue a three year contract for flexible cable assemblies.  The defense department will issue periodic delivery orders over the term of the contract.  Technical documentation is available for this cable assembly, NSN 5995-01-327-1532, used on the SH-60B helicopter.

There is no set quantity on the contract, but DLA estimates that they buy 54 each year. They were last sold to the military by Aptiv service for $5,308 each in quantity of 22.  Other suppliers include Kampi Components and R&M Government. Based on past procurement history pricing, we estimate the value of this contract at $850,000 over the three years.

All offers are due by September 7, 2021.  A source approval request should be submitted by all offerers which are not on the approved source list.

DLA Troop Support has issued a solicitation for the supply of recreational and gymnastic equipment contained in the Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT) equipment set.  The ACFT is part of the Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) System, a Chief of Staff of the Army initiative. The ACFT is a six event test comprised of 11 types of fitness equipment per set measuring muscular strength, muscular endurance, power, flexibility, coordination, speed, agility, cardiovascular endurance, balance and a reaction time for all Untied States Army units.

In 2020, the military spent $63.8 million on 36,000 lanes of Army Combat Fitness Test Equipment for 1 million active duty, reserve, and national guard soldiers.

The contract resulting from this solicitation will last for up to five years.  There is no set quantity on the items below, but DLA has provided annual estimates for demand.

DLA Land and Maritime has issued a solicitation for pulleys used in consolidated ground support equipment. This pulley is used in the Mark 7 arresting gear used to stop landing aircraft on all Nimitz class aircraft carriers. DLA Aviation is looking for more companies to compete to supply this access cover used on the F-16C/D aircraft.  This panel, NSN 1560-01-420-9453 is located on the forward nose upper fuselage. It is made of synthetic rubber.

The only company to supply this item over the last 20 years is Texstars, LLC., which won a five year contract (SPE4A7-21-D-0299) to supply these to the military.  The unit price in quantity ranges from 47 – 188 units is $1,432 each.  After annual price increases the unit price is $1,507 in the fifth year of the contract.

DLA has determined that they would like to see more competition for this part. The government has a technical data package and drawings for this item.  In fact, DLA is so interested in seeing more companies produce these that they are making samples available to be reverse engineered.

DLA estimates annual demand for these panels at 188 units.  Based on recent procurement history, the government spends approximately $200,000 each year on these access panels.
