DLA Aviation has issued two solicitations for airframe components.\u00a0 Both contracts will have a duration of five years, and technical documentation is available so new companies can compete.<\/p>\n

The first solicitation, SPE4A7-22-R-0176 is for an antenna fairing used on the B-52 aircraft.\u00a0 This fairing, NSN 1560-01-327-3613 was last sold to the military by Top Flight Aerostructures for $5050 each in quantity of 10 units.\u00a0\u00a0 The price has almost doubled in the last twenty years. The solicitation calls for 100 units over five years with an estimated delivery time of 110 days from each delivery order. All offers are due by February 2, 2022.<\/p>\n

The second solicitation,\u00a0SPE4A7-22-R-0171 is for aluminum alloy aircraft skin ,NSN\u00a01560-00-658-2170, used on the U-8 airplane.\u00a0 This Boeing part was last sold to the military by Apex Pinnacle for $897.24 in quantity of 38.\u00a0 Other suppliers include Aerometals, Inc. and IBP Consulting.\u00a0 The total quantity in this solicitation is 200 over five years.\u00a0 All offers are due by February 3, 2022.<\/p>\n
