Langley Air Force Base\u2019s 1st Fighter Wing recently added the T-38 Talon to its aircraft inventory. The T-38s provide adversary support for F-22 Raptor pilots at a fraction of the operational costs of other aircraft.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Tinker Air Force Base is planning to issue a three year contract for the supply of fuel injectors used in the T-38 aircraft.\u00a0 The T-38 is a twin-engine, high-altitude, supersonic jet trainer used in a variety of roles because of its design, economy of operations, ease of maintenance, high performance and exceptional safety record.<\/p>\n

These fuel injection nozzles, NSN\u00a02915-00-106-5464<\/a> are used on the J85 GE-5 Turbojet Engine.\u00a0 There are two line items in the solicitation, the first for suppliers that can accept a three year IDQ with quantities of up to 10,739 over the term.\u00a0 If vendors are unable to meet that quantity, they can submit an offer on line item 0002 which is a firm, fixed quantity with a minimum of 354 and maximum of 2,123.\u00a0 DLA’s Best Estimate Quantity (BEQ) for the three year term is 7,159.<\/p>\n

The last company to supply these was Delavan, Inc which was acquired by R.W. Beckett in 2021.\u00a0 The nozzles were sold to DLA for $2,100 each in quantity of 1,880. Based on past procurement history pricing we estimate the value of this contract at approximately $15 Million over three years.<\/p>\n

All offers are due by June 6, 2022.<\/p>\n
