DLA wants more competition on UH-60 Exhaust Pipe; $5.7 Million annually

DLA Aviation has announced that they would like to see more competition on this exhaust system, NSN 1560-01-233-8332 used on the UH-60 Helicopter.  The pipe measures 26.04 inches in length with 19.20 inches of outside diameter.  It is part of the infrared suppressor system.

The only supplier has been General Electric, which sold these for $40,681 each.  DLA has determined that it could see better pricing if more companies compete.  The government estimates that they will purchase 95 of these each year at a total acquisition cost of $5.7 Million. Technical Documentation and drawings are available so new competitors can potentially supply this item.

DLA is so interested in seeing competition that they are making samples available for contractors to reverse-engineer. There is no current solicitation for this item, but companies can acquire technical data to prepare for upcoming procurement.  The last purchase of these exhaust pipes was in 2018.
