DLA Aviation is looking for companies to compete to manufacture this hydraulic filter.  The filter is used in the SH-60B and HH-60 helicopters.  They have determined that the government could see better pricing if they could encourage more competition.

Currently the only supplier is Akrwin Industries which last sold these filters to the military for $427.41 in quantity of 211.  The OEM part number is 1311024-254. DLA estimates annual demand at 911 each year.  Based on internal estimates DLA expects to spend $541,024 each year on these filters.

Although there is no technical data package on this item, DLA is so interested in finding suppliers that they are making samples available for vendors to borrow or purchase to reverse engineer.

DLA Aviation ASC Commodities Division is planning to issue an Indefinite Delivery Purchase Order (IDPO) for rivets.  This contract will have one base year and four optional years for maximum duration of five years. These steel rivets, NSN 5320-01-143-5075 have an aluminum alloy 5056 sleeve with Chromate surface treatment.

These were last sold to the military by HC Merchandise for $0.27 each in quantity of 39,788.  Other suppliers include Adept Fasteners, Peerless Aerospace, Rapid Rivet, and Allfast Fasteners.  DLA estimates annual demand to be 66,493 each year although this order specifies a requirement of 54,860 annually.  If all five years of the contract are executed, based on past procurement history pricing, this order is valued at $74,061.

It was last sold to the military by Handy Tool & Mfg. for $4,200 each in quantity of 14. A first article test item is expected from the vendor before approving the rest of the shipment. Handy Tool has supplied this first sample for $17,000.  Based on past procurement history, we estimate the value of this contract to be $214,200.

DLA has 12 of these on hand and estimates annual demand at 24 units. All offers are due by February 8, 2021.

The only allowable manufacturer is 3M.  The OEM part number is 7000051991 for the 100 unit box.  These NIOSH approved P100 particulate filters are used with 3M respirators such as  full face-piece and half face-piece reusable respirators.

The cable, NSN 5995-01-593-9710 has been supplied by Falmat, Inc since 2017. The most recent order was for 150 units at $142 each.    Other suppliers include Maryland Integrated Systems, J&K Electronics (M3 Technology), and Northrop Grumman.

The contract has been set-aside for small business, although the most recent supplier, Falmat is a large corporation with over 1,500 employees. This might present an opportunity for small businesses looking to compete.

The Defense Department has requested two quantity breakdowns, 300-600 and 500-700.  No annual estimated demand has been published.  At 600 units each year, the five year contract could be worth $255,600.

These Zinc Anodes are used on almost every ship in the Navy to sacrificially attract corrosion from submerged metal parts.   A full description can be found in the Military Specification MIL-DTL-18001.

Two of the stock numbers have been exclusively supplied by Belmont Metal in Brooklyn, NY, and Kampi Components has the most recent contract for 5342-00-702-1371. Prior to that, Belmont Metal has been the only source since 2012.

Based on procurement history pricing, we estimate this contract could be worth $573,859 if all six years are executed.  It has been set-aside for small businesses only.

The gauge was last sold for $448.25 each in quantity of 100 units.   The manufacturer’s part number is 2000-045-00.

DLA Aviation, ASC Commodities Division is issuing an Indefinite Delivery Contract for steel corrosion resistant ball bearings.  This contract will have three base years and two optional years where the government can submit delivery orders against it.

This bearing, NSN 3110-00-843-9887 was last supplied by Honeywell International for $70 each in quantity of 224.  The only other supplier over the past seven years was Lockheed Martin.  Supplying this bearing requires source approval which can be obtained by submitting a Source Approval Request (SAR) to the government.

DLA Estimates annual demand of this bearing at 314 units.  The contract will call for a minimum quantity of 79. At annual demand, if all five years of the contract are executed, it could be worth $109,900.

DLA estimates annual demand at 3,000 rolls, but wants quantity breakdowns for 1,700 to 3,500 per year. At estimated demand, if all five years of the contract are executed it could be worth $221,850.
